It is so lovely to have all of the children back in the classroom. I can’t believe we are into the Summer Term already! Hopefully, we will have an enjoyable final term in year 1 filled with lots of exciting learning opportunities without any interruptions. Please continue to support your child with the completion of homework and regular reading.
Home learning Planning
Hello and Welcome Back!
Myself, Mrs Ashworth and Miss Forshaw are looking forward to welcoming you all back to school in year 1. Although things may feel a little different at the moment as we have to learn a new routine throughout the school day, we will get used to it and it is important to remember that it won’t last forever.
It has been lovely to see the children’s smiling faces and positive attitudes again every morning and they are all settling in incredibly well.
Please keep checking this page for updates, photos and homework.
Please could you: Encourage your child to read for ten minutes each night and please make sure that you sign your child’s diary. In school we encourage a love of reading. Books will be sent home from school for your child to read but it is also important for children to experience a range of other books you may have a home too. Reading together and talking about what you have read is a really effective way of growing enthusiasm and enjoyment of reading.
Homework will be sent home on a Friday and collected on a Tuesday. Examples of homework may include Mathletics, research linked to a class topic or theme or phonics.
PE takes place on Monday and Wednesday afternoons so please could you make sure that your child has their PE kit in school at all times. On our allocated PE days please could you make sure that your child does not wear any earrings. Thank you.
If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the year 1 team.
Mrs H Barkley, Mrs V Ashworth & Miss A Forshaw
